I just wanted to share my experiences and reiterate that Facebook is pure scum and in no way respects your privacy. I have previously deleted my Facebook account, re-registered, and started with a clean slate - i don't know if this instance (disassociating my Spotify account from Facebook, then recovering my music), caused some sort of glitch, but lo and behold, deleting your account doesn't do shit. Then I was promptly taken to the following page:Īll of my friends, status updates, and even photos: I was taken to a page asking me to reset my password, so I did. This seemed weird to me, as I had deleted my Facebook account years ago - but just for the fun of it I decided to click the link. cool, i guess.Ī few minutes later I received this email from Facebook: So i provided them with my DoB, and they recovered my stuff. Spotify also asked me to confirm my date of birth, and in doing so, they would be able to restore my playlists and albums from my old Facebook account. I contacted support, and in a few minutes I was able to register my account with no issues. I was taken to a help page advising to contact chat support for such a situation, and to get the email disassociated. Tonight I attempted to create a Spotify account with my main email, but it failed due to the email being associated with a deleted Facebook account.
It also gives you a handy hint that if you log in within 14 days, you'll be able to save your account from deletion. During the deletion process you're warned several times that doing so will irreversibly remove all of your friends, albums/pictures, status updates and so on. On this page, choose the ‘Account’ option followed by clicking the ‘I want to close my account’ button.
I specifically chose the option to "delete" it, not "deactivate". So now, Spotify account users may simply follow the stepwise procedure highlighted below to delete the Spotify account easily: Firstly, move to the ‘Contact Spotify Support page’ using the preferable web browser.
